Provider Portal Changes
Date: 10/25/21
In line with continuing efforts to improve the overall member and provider experience with our health plans, we are improving the account and login experience for users of the secure Centene portals. Please review the information below to prepare yourself to respond to members who may call in with questions regarding the change.
Attached is a list of the URLs impacted by this enhancement, as well as a more comprehensive FAQ list that includes screen shots of the new Account Login screen.
What changes are being made to the login process?
There are some key changes all users need to be aware of that will streamline their secure login experience:
- The "username" used to log in will now be the user's registered email address.
- Users with access to multiple portals will now have one login experience with using their email and a single password. They will no longer need to remember separate usernames and passwords for multiple portals.
- There will now be two login screens:
- Users will enter their "username" (email address) on the first screen
- Users will then enter their password on the second screen
- Security questions and sign-in seals will no longer be used.
- The "Forgot Password" link has now been changed to read "Trouble Logging In?" but provides the same account recovery information.
- The account recovery link will be automatically sent to the email address registered on the account.
What does this mean?
On the morning of Friday, October 8, 2021, most Centene secure web portal users will have a new Single Sign On (SSO) login experience that will require them to go through the below Password Reset process.
- Upon login to the new system, users will be asked for their "username" which will be their registered email address.
- They will then be sent to a page that informs the user to check their inbox for a "Recover Your Account" email which will allow them to reset their password.
- Users will then click the link inside the Recover Your Account email that will be sent to their registered email.
- Note: Users can reuse the same password as before.
- Use the newly entered password to log in, once the password reset is complete.
- Below is a quick overview of the steps members will go through when setting up a new account through the enhanced process

Which portals are impacted?
A full list of impacted portals by URL is attached. At a high level, this will impact the following legacy Centene secure portal users:
- Secure Member Portal Users
- Secure Provider Portal Users
- Secure Client Portal Users
- Secure Broker Portal Users
- Support Portals
When will this be happening? The portals will be moving to the new login the evening of 10/7/2021 and will be live the morning of 10/8/2021.
Are there any changes to the password requirements now?
Yes. Passwords now must have all of the following:
- Must be 8 or more characters
- Must contain 3 of the following:
- 1 lowercase letter
- 1 uppercase letter
- 1 number
- 1 special character
Will the URL for my portal change?
The main URL for the portals will stay the same. The login page will no longer be the legacy authentication page and will move to the new EntryKeyID page. This will not impact any user as there will be an automatic redirect for the legacy URL.
If any user has the former SSO/login page bookmarked, they will be sent to the correct login page automatically with no additional action needed from the user.
