Ambetter from Peach State Health Plan and KaBOOM! Put Kids First by Creating Opportunities to Play in East Point
Date: 12/05/18
200 Community Volunteers Unite to Build a New Playground at River Park
Volunteers from Ambetter from Peach State Health Plan, the City of East Point, and the community will join KaBOOM! on Saturday, December 8, to transform the site of an existing, dated playground into a kid-designed, state-of-the-art playground in just six hours. The new playground will be located at River Park, across the street from Parklane Elementary School, making play an easy choice for kids and families in East Point.
There is a need for a new safe and accessible playground for children to use in the River Park community due to the deteriorating condition of its current one. In October, kids from the surrounding community came together to draw their dream playground. The playground is created based off their drawings, while also adhering to ADA guidelines and standards, and will provide more than 200 kids in East Point with a great, safe place to play.
This playground is part of a broader effort led by Ambetter and KaBOOM! to ensure communities have great PLAYces for kids and families to live active, healthy lives. It will be the first build by Ambetter from Peach State Health Plan. Through this partnership, Ambetter from Peach State Health Plan and KaBOOM! are creating an environment where kids feel valued, supported, and celebrated.
